Walking, Cycling, Fishing & Shooting

For those of a more active nature there are plenty of outdoor pursuits in and around Dulverton.

WALKING

Walkers can enjoy a pleasant walk along the river or take a number of well-directed footpaths to Tarr Steps, over the moor and beyond. You will find plenty of information on local walks at the Exmoor Society based next to the library in Dulverton (www.exmoorsociety.org.uk) or at Summiteer (www.summiteer.co.uk/2013/Jun13/Dulverton%20Hol/Dulverton%20Hol.html). Alternatively, here at Town Mills we hold a number of local maps for you to browse in the quiet of your own rooms.

Another useful place to look at for outdoor pursuits is SW Lakes Trust www.swlakestrust.org.uk

CYCLING

National Route Three from Lands’ End to Bristol goes through Dulverton and we welcome cyclists from both the UK and Europe. You will be able to keep your bikes secure in our specially built bike shed and enjoy a good night’s rest after enjoying the local beer and food at one of the many restaurants in the town.

FISHING

The local rivers provide excellent fishing and many of our guests come down to learn the art of fly fishing. For more in-depth information on fishing in the area speak to Nick Hart. (www.nickhartflyfishing.com)

SHOOTING

The local area supports a number of shoots and Town Mills provides the perfect place to stay for both individuals and parties.
